An interdisciplinary framework for place-based research and its impact on the tourist industry
This project develops a methodology for, and promotes national discourse on, the systematic interdisciplinary analysis of place. It explores the relationship of scholarly analysis of place to ontological aspects of tourism, and is motivated by the epistemological needs of the burgeoning field of educational tourism.
The project provides specialist and interdisciplinary research training for post-doctoral researchers, working with experts in their fields. The results will be presented in presentations and refereed publication of theoretical and methodological investigations of places.
