Early Music Studio
Up one levelThe Early Music Studio at the Faculty of Music, University of Melbourne, is a specialist centre of early music performance and scholarship. Founded in 1996 to consolidate a long-standing commitment to excellence in early music, the EMS provides instrumental and vocal training, research facilities and a base for community involvement. Study at the EMS is available at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and tuition is also available through the University’s Community Access Program.
Both the staff of the EMS and many of its graduates are recognised among the Australian leaders in their fields. In 2005, the EMS created the Spring Early Music Festival as its public contribution to musical life in Melbourne.
